Alberta E. Blim, 81, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. She was born on November 28, 1935, the daughter of the late Martin and Ruby Cartwright. Alberta was a lifelong homemaker, where she lovingly cared for her husband and eight children. She enjoyed camping, reading, watching the birds, dancing, blue grass and country music. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Alberta was a former member of the Montour Moose Club and Mechanics Club in Montour Falls. She was predeceased by her husband, Andrew Blim, son, Christopher Blim, and by several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Andrew (Cindy) Blim of Rock Stream, Connie Hively, Daniel (Kelly) Blim, both of Watkins Glen, Timothy Blim of Ithaca, Charles Blim of Watkins Glen, Karen (Rick) Smith of Auburn, and Jeff (Lisa) Blim of Watkins Glen; sisters, Emma Goodrich and Wanda Cartwright of Florida; brother, Floyd Cartwright of Elmira; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 11-1 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A celebration of her life will begin at 1:00 pm, followed by burial at Beaver Dams Cemetery.
