Obituary

Anna Cecelia (Jacque) Peterson, 96, affectionately known as "Boppy", departed this life on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was born in Elmira on July 11, 1918, the daughter of the late Philip and Ada (Wilcox) Jacque. All of her life, Ceil was active in several community organizations. She was a 55 year member of the Eastern Star, Past Matron and Color Bearer of Fern Chapter, Associate Grand Marshal of the Eastern Star Grand Chapter of New York State, a member of the Lions Club, Red Hat Society, and Schuyler County Home Bureau. Many remember how active she was in the Odessa United Methodist Church during the time Dutton S. Peterson was pastor. She is survived by her four daughters, Jacqueline (Pete) Gardner, Jolinda (Jess) Pully, Rebecca (Pat) Driscoll, and Susan Peterson; two sons, Richard (Ellie) Vary and Charles Vary; sister, Arleine Stoddard of GA; brother, Raymond Jacque of NC; special sister-in-law, Joyce Soule; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 8 great great grandchildren. For all of those whose lives she touched, let us pray for her and give thanks for being blessed with the love, acceptance and kindness of one beautiful lady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eastern Star memorial services on Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 4-6 pm at the Masonic Temple, Main St., Montour Falls. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the Eastern Star, 308 West Main Street Montour Falls 14865.
