Arretta Dunham Howland, 89, of Rock Stream, NY and formerly of Winchester, KY, entered unto rest on Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Richard Porr. She was born in Pine Creek, PA, on November 22, 1926, and graduated from Andover Central School in Andover, NY. She married John Howland on February 8, 1946 in Andover. He passed away in 2005. Arretta was a homemaker, always caring for her husband and family. Arretta is survived by two daughters, Judy (Richard) Porr of Rock Stream, NY, and Sandra Howland of Montour Falls, NY; a son, John R. Howland of Elkland, PA; a brother, Robert Dunham and his companion Maxine Simons of Wellsville, NY; sister-in-law, Jean Dunham of Andover, NY; three grandchildren, Lisa Vargeson, Michael Southard and Anthony Howland; and one great grandson, Cody Vargeson. She was predeceased by her mother and Step-father, Ira and Ruth Conner; father, William B. Dunham; two brothers, Paul Dunham and William B. Dunham; and two sisters, Mary Stebbins and Jeanne Hammond. There will be no services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, Montour Falls, NY.
