Barbara A. Penworth

Barbara Ann Penworth, 63, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.

She was born in Waterloo, NY on July 30, 1963, the daughter of Clifford Arden and Dolores (Applegate) Munroe. She graduated from South Seneca High School.

Throughout her life, Barbara worked in fast food restaurants, cleaning and custodial jobs, customer service, and was involved with several community service programs such as volunteering for the Salvation Army Red Bucket.

She was predeceased by her father, Clifford Arden; brother, Jay Arden; and uncles, Richard Arden and Roger Terwilliger.

Surviving are her children, Jessica Arden (Balam Sales) and Jason Arden; granddaughter, Yassmin Arden; mother, Dolores Munroe; siblings, Doris Catchings (Tim Page), Ray Arden, Bill Arden, Debbie (Bill) Leaman, Carl (Samantha) Arden; sister-in-law, Paula Arden; aunts, Dorothy (Smith) Arden and Patricia Terwilliger; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Barbara’s favorite TV shows were Little House on the Prairie and Seventh Heaven and also enjoyed watching Horror movies. Barbara loved spending time with her family, drinking coffee, socializing with people. She also loved collecting anything purple and unicorns.

There will be no services. Memorial contributions may be made to your local food pantry or any civic outreach program.
