Camille Sue Alger, 80, of Rock Stream, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2021. She was born on December 21, 1940 in Towanda, PA, the daughter of William R. and Sarah Chaffee Neal. Sue was predeceased by her parents, husband, Gordon L. Alger (2004), daughter Jeanne Marie Johnson (2020), brother, Skip Neal (1993), grandson, Mark Johnson, Jr. (1977) and great grandbaby Nora (2013). Sue graduated from Trumansburg Central School, class of 1958. She married Gordon LeRoy Alger in 1959 in Winchester, VA. She is survived by son in law, David Johnson (Rock Stream, NY) and family , Barbara Alger (Dundee, NY) and family , Gordon A (Terri) Alger (Rock Stream NY) and family, Mary (John) Rekczis (Rock Stream, NY) and family and William Alger and daughter, Makenzie (Watkins Glen, NY). Sue is also survived by two sisters, Sarah Spearman and family (Wilseyville, NY) and Joanne Neal (Watkins Glen, NY); brother-in-law, Frank (Michele) Alger of Mesquite, TX; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great, great grandchildren. Sue would like to be remembered for her faith, the many blackberries she picked and shared for 50 years, and her wild black raspberry jelly that so many enjoyed. Sue was also an avid reader, and enjoyed writing stories and poetry. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who met her. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ben Saks and the staff at Schuyler Hospital for the wonderful care given to her. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm followed by burial in Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Humane Society of Schuyler County, 124 Marina Dr., Montour Falls, NY 14865 or to a charity of one's choice.
