Carol Lynn Strait, age 72, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at home. Carol was born in Elmira, NY on March 4, 1953 to the late Harold McCarty and Eva Jean (Robinson) McCarty. She is survived by sons, Eric Strait of Pine Valley, NY and Michael Murphy of Elmira Heights, NY; daughter, Jennifer Bellido of Corning, NY; brothers, Bill "Brother Bill" McCarty (Kim Hill-McCarty) of Watkins Glen, NY and Gary McCarty of Beaver Dams, NY; eleven grandchildren, Rebecca Murphy, Nathaniel Bellido, Malachi Murphy, Alexus Bellido, Christopher Murphy, Ramone Bellido, Joseph Murphy, Jesse Bellido, Landon Bellido, Autumn Bauman, Kaya Blaney; along with three great-grandchildren, Anthony Sanford, Mara Chidester, and Annalisha Chidester. Carol attended Notre Dame High School. She was employed at True Temper in Pine Valley for many years, and then later worked as a housekeeper at the Holiday Inn in Elmira. She enjoyed being outside, and could often be found working in her yard during the warm weather months. She also loved listening to music, spending time with her family, and taking care of her two dogs, Jackson and Snuggie. Carol will be laid to rest in St. Mary's Cemetery in Corning, NY.
