Clinton Austin Wilcox, Sr., 89, of Beaver Dams, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. He was born in Beaver Dams, NY on October 31, 1936, the son of Corolee Wilcox. He served with the US Army from 1954-1957. Even though he was an only child, he was one lucky man when he married one of the 10 Nichols girls from Campbell. He married his wife of 68 years, Edythe (Nichols) on July 12, 1958 in Bath, NY. Clint worked for Dutch Hoag in Bath and retired from Ferris Trucking in Bath, NY.
Clinton loved working on stock cars and was an excellent mechanic. He enjoyed working on engines, collecting old farm implements and yard work. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. But above all, he loved taking care of his family and eating Cherry Pie!
He was predeceased by a son, Calvin Royce; mother, Corolee Wilcox; brothers and sisters in-law, Marge and Jesse Tyler, Betty and Perry Nichols, Ruth and Vic Campbell, Mary and Joe Fernandes, Carl and Cheryl Nichols, Bet and Ken McCullough, Carol Russell, Georgie and Chuck Lewis, Ken Calkins, Lynn and Carla Nichols; son-in-law, Michael Franzese; and great granddaughter, Maren Munroe.
Clinton is survived by his beloved wife, Edythe; children, Alice Jane Wilcox-Hassen (Jack), Clinton Austin Wilcox, Jr. “Bud” and Virginia Lee Christensen (Jason); grandchildren, Nicholas and Jessica Berry, Alicia Wilcox, Andrew Wilcox, Elliot and Amy Hassen, Jeff and Sunnie Munroe, Corrina and John Rekczis, Trevor Hassen, Jared and Savannah Franzese; great grandchildren, Hannah Berry, Ryan Berry, Jaxson Wilcox, Norah Wilcox, Meadow, Mack, Myles Munroe, Eden and John Rekczis; in-laws, Roberta Calkins, Lynda Peterson, Reta and John Machuga, Pat and Paul Nichols. Clinton is also survived by a few hundred nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. His funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial with military honors will follow in Beaver Dams Cemetery.
