Danny G. Daugherty, 59, of Alpine, passed away at Schuyler Hospital on Monday, February 3, 2014 after a long service related illness. He was born in Elmira on August 19, 1954 and attended Odessa High School. He was a carpenter with Empire State Carpenters. Danny served with the US Navy from 1971-1974 and was a member of the Odessa American Legion. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Danny is survived by his wife of 39 years, Deborah Jacobs Daugherty; children, Michael Daugherty of Alpine, Judy (Chad) Chappell of Elmira, and Jessica Daugherty of Odessa; brothers, Willard, Jr., James, Ralph, and Ronnie Daugherty; a sister Jeannie Derr; brothers in law, Mark, Mike, David and Joe Jacobs; ten grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2-4 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122, N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A funeral service with military honors will follow at 4 pm. Following services family and friends are invited to a reception at Fergies 19th Hole in Horseheads.
