David R. Burke, 73, of Watkins Glen, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2015 at home. He was born in Corning on March 1, 1942, the son of the late Raymond and Mary (Silvernail) Burke. David retired from Corning, Inc. He loved living on Keuka Lake for most of his life. He was predeceased by his parents, and by his brother and sister-in-law, John and Frances Burke. He is survived by his companion of 23 years, Gerry Compton of Watkins Glen; son, David (Eileen) Burke of Las Vegas; daughter, Debra Burke Baptist of NC; beloved granddaughter, Aneesah Baptist; sister, Marilyn Welles of Elmira; special friends and relatives, Sharon and Dick Ludden of NC, David and Sheila Pappas of Fountain Hills, AZ, James and Kathy Cornish of Corning; and many special nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Montour Cemetery.
