David C. Teeter

The Teeter family mourns the loss while celebrating the remarkable life of David C. Teeter 85, who went Home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Born on November 29, 1940 in Erin, NY to parents, Merrill F. Teeter and Hazel M. (Barwell) Teeter, David lived a life rooted in faith, love, and quiet strength. He was a devoted husband/father/grandfather/great grandfather and his greatest joy was caring for his family and serving God.

He had a strong conviction to share the hope that he found in Jesus Christ, with everyone he met! “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

He lived out his beliefs through kindness, integrity, and service to others. David loved to cook and worked at several restaurants throughout his career- Ithaca College, Turbacks, Glen Motor Inn, Blue Ribbon, Curly’s, to name a few, as well as opening two family restaurants- The Alkazar and The Soup Kitchen where he was known to many for his famous cheese soup and pizza! He loved sharing his love of cooking with his children and grandchildren and many of them have made him proud by following in his footsteps in the food service industry. Besides his love for cooking, David found much enjoyment and relaxation in gardening! At one time, he cultivated/harvested 4 big gardens. He loved sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends and at one time he even had contracts with Wegmans and P&C because of such an abundance! In addition, David was challenged, but not often bested, in his amazing talent of the game of Ping Pong!

David is survived by his loving wife of 62 1/2 years, Patricia L. (Maine)Teeter, and his children: Kelly (John) Armstrong, Jeff (Tamara) Teeter, Paul (Felicia) Teeter, son-in-law, Jonathan Burns, 19 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren (plus a new great granddaughter due in March), sisters Dorothy Hill, Arlene Webster, Lois Brooke and brother Wayne Teeter.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Alan and Durwood, sister Lorraine Lent and his beloved daughter, Traci (Teeter) Burns.

His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the relationships he built, and the family he cherished. We have no doubt that when David took his last breath and stepped into Heaven that he heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” ~Matthew 25:23

*The family wishes to extend a special thank you to many of David’s caretakers at Seneca View, Unit 1, especially Samantha and Tina who became like family and we are forever grateful for the love and care that they gave to our husband/daddy.
