David E. Young, 91, of Rock Stream, NY on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira, New York. He was born May 13, 1931 in Mifflin County, PA. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley, mother, Sarah, brothers, Joseph and Paul, and his son Philip. He is survived by his wife, Harriet, his children, Rebecca Voorhees (Michael) of Montour Falls, NY and Stanley (Jodi Muirhead) of Big Flats, NY, and daughter-in-law Rose Young of Watkins Glen, NY. He has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dave and Harriet celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in May. Dave was a longtime member of the Watkins Glen Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He helped many over the years by being a spiritual counselor and a very good listener. He was known for being a hard worker and an honest businessman for over 50 years in the area. He was the founder of Young's Tires in Horseheads, New York. A beautiful place he and Harriet shared with many, was his fishing camp, Pogamasing, in Northern Ontario, Canada. The more friends and family that joined them, all the better. In later years they enjoyed the warmer climate of Englewood, Florida. Dave and Harriet were legendary for their hospitality. There was always room for one more at their table. Dave shared and truly looked forward to the promise found in Revelation 21:4, a time here on earth when "death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore."
