Doris Force-Huston, 94, of Montour Falls, NY, died in her home on May 9, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Doris was born October 11, 1927, the eldest of Fred and Grace Cope of Beaver Dams, NY. Taking after her father, Fred, who played fiddle at grange hall dances, Doris loved music and sang blues and jazz. She sang with The Lewis Sisters at venues in Elmira, Corning, Albany, and surrounds. Her sisters, Arlene and June, also sang with Doris at family parties and events. After marrying and having children, she continued to sing and play piano right up to her 94th birthday. Doris married Arlo Havens (deceased) and is survived by her son, Terry Havens, also a musician. She married Joseph Filippetti and is survived by Peter Filippetti, Fred Filippetti, Steven Filippetti, and Nathan Filippetti. Fred and Steve are also musicians. Doris married Sam (Francis) Force (deceased) and is survived by her daughter Cynthia G. Neale. She also married Donald Huston(deceased) of Valois, NY at age 70. She is survived by her siblings, Arlene Cope Learn, June Cope Benjamin, Kenneth Cope, and Sandra Cope Bates. Doris has eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. Everyone loved "Dory!" Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Odessa-Catharine United Methodist Church, 305 Church St., Odessa, NY. Doris's funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm (masks, please). A celebration of her life dish to pass picnic will be held after services at Havana Glen, Montour Falls with music by her family.
