Edward David Harrian

Edward David Harrian was born February 8, 1956 at Bath Hospital to Edward and Jeannine Harrian. Edward David, known as David age 70, passed away August 23, 2026 at Corning Hospital.

He is survived by his son Joshua, his daughter in law Marjory Randall Harrian, his two grandchildren Asher and Emma Harrian, sister Nancy Harrian Blencowe, a niece Sarah Blencowe, nephews Dylan, Cody and Jesse Blencowe, great-niece Celeste Mathews, great-great nephew Castiel Dixon, many aunts, uncles and beloved cousins.

Predeceased were his parents Edward and Jeannine Harrian and his beloved dogs, Girlie and Baby.

David was a member of St Stanislaus Church in Bradford, NY. He graduated from Bradford Central School in 1975. He attended Corning Community College for sign language and later he received training to be a body guard. His hobbies were being a Revolutionary re-enactor, a history buff who read any and all nonfiction history books he could find. He loved to talk history. He also grew gardens and canned the vegetables.

David grew up and worked the family farm, but David wanted more out of life. He longed to see The Rocky Mountains. David headed west, first working as a security guard at Vance International in Minnesota. Reaching the Rocky Mountains, he was a security guard in various casinos in Colorado. David also worked as a “selective demolition first” for different demolitions companies, the gas fields, and wood cutter.

David’s greatest achievement was being security guard to Pope John Paul II in Colorado in 1993. He had a certificate signed by the Pope thanking him for his service.

David was known as a “Mountain Man” born 200 years too late. He would dress in buckskin clothing and attended rendezvous’s and pow wows where he befriended Native Americans who named him “Edward Brother Wolf.” He lived close to nature, most of his years without electricity or running water. He lived in a cabin he built himself for a short period of time, a hole in the ground, deep in the woods in the dead of a brutal winter (using the skills he learned from the Native Americans), a camper and finally a shed. He lived life his way.

David had many friends who loved him and will remember him. His son Josh says “He was the best man I ever knew.”

A Celebration of Life will be held September 12 at 2 pm at the Romance Farm address, 6783 COUNTY ROAD 17 Savona NY 14879. The family would like everyone to attend to help them honor David one last time.
