Ernest R. Wheeler Sr., 94 passed away Monday, April 1st at Seneca View in Montour Falls. Ernie was a lifetime resident of Montour Falls, he had worked as a Machinist at Shepard Niles and a supervisor for Capabilities in Elmira. Ernie always put the needs of others before his own. He cared deeply for those who worked for him and alongside him. He is preceded in death by many family members and friends, including his wife of more than 50 years, Elsie Wheeler (Bowen), his sons Ernie Jr. (Nancy) Wheeler and Carl (Ruth) Wheeler. Ernie is survived by his grandchildren Kenneth, Paul, Gary and Michelle. Per his wishes, there will be no prior visitation. A brief graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 6th at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Odessa. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Seneca View Skilled Nursing.
