Frances L. Simpson, 100, of Watkins Glen, NY, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025 at home. She was born on April 2, 1925 in Dowagiac, MI the daughter of the late Frank and Winifred Steuber. Frances was a member of the Burdett United Methodist Church and a member of the Montour Moose Lodge since 1979. She was an avid bowler, bowling with the Watkins Glen Bowling League and Senior Bowling League since 1958 where she won many trophies. Frances was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, William Coon Post 2674 and Lifetime member since 1995. She also knitted hats and gloves for Seneca Santa for many years. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred "Snap" Leroy Simpson in 1985; sister, Barbara Sattelmier in 1959; brothers, Richard Steuber in 1995 and Walter Gorham in 2014; and special friend, Hope Decker. Frances is survived by a special niece, Sharon Peppard; several other nieces, nephews and friends, Cherie L. Kennison, Allen Pilbeam, Thomas McRoy, Cathy and Leon Dean and family; and by her caregiver, Genevieve Williams and her family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm followed by burial in Union Cemetery of Hector.
