Obituary

Francis Parker, age 87, of Montour Falls, NY passed away at home on Friday, July 30th, 2021. Francis was born in Montour Falls, NY on August 26th, 1933, the son of Edna (Cleveland) and William S. Parker. He had served in the US Army during the Korean War and the New York State National Guard. He worked as a foreman for the NYS DOT in Watkins Glen, NY. He was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign War. Francis is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Parker and Melissa (Steven) Zoeke all of Montour Falls; son, Christopher (Ronald) Parker of Long Island; five grandchildren, Courtney Mills, Corey Mills both of St. Croix, Jeremy Zoeke of Montour Falls, Jordan Zoeke of Angier, NC, and Abelgayle Parker of Montour Falls; great granddaughter, Evelyn Jean Zoeke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 65 years, Jean Parker and their daughter, Cheryl Mills. Friends and family may call from 12 noon to 2pm on Thursday, August 5th, 2021 at Vedder Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY 14865. His funeral will follow at 2pm at the funeral home. There will be a reception to follow at 3:00pm at Montour Moose lodge, State Rte. 14, Montour Falls, NY. Military Honors will be held at Woodlawn National Cemetery in Elmira, NY at the convenience of his family.
