Gary Lewis Ayers, age 71, of Delhi, NY formerly of Watkins Glen, passed away on Saturday, May 20th, 2023 at the Delhi Nursing Center. Gary was born in Montour Falls, NY on December 2nd, 1951, the son of the late, Daniel and Janet Ayers. Gary attended Watkins Glen High School until he was drafted into the service in 1969. He served in the US Marine Corp during the Vietnam War. He had worked for Corning Glass until retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Rainbow Chasers Club and he went to the bowling alley to visit with his friends. Gary, also, enjoyed walking around Watkins Glen to visit with everyone. Gary is survived by his daughter, Tabatha Grayce Owens (JJ) of Willis, TX; son, Sean Michael Ayers (Melisa) of Dundee, NY; grandchildren, Adam Owens, Kaytlyn Owens and William Owens; great granddaughter, Julia Owens; sister, Kathy Dunn of Watkins Glen; brother, Don Ayers of Montour Falls; aunt and uncles; Nancy Johnson, Jim Campbell and Lewis Campbell; and nieces and nephews, Amber Pratt, Andy Chrisman II, Jeremy Dunn, Nicole, Rebecca, Whitney, and Jeremiah Ayers. He was predeceased by his brother, Ron "Thumbsy" Ayers.
