George W. Hill, 82, of Montour Falls, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at Schuyler Hospital. He was born in Danbury, CT on September 7, 1933, the son of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Montgomery) Hill. George served with the US Navy from 1953-1957. He worked at Thatcher Glass, which later became Anchor Glass, retiring in 1997 after 40 years of service. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Montour Falls. He loved hunting, farming and cutting wood. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Donna L. (Pelow) Hill; four children, Cincera (Robert) Fischer of Rochester, Donnare (Brian) Harris and Brenda Kimbell both of Horseheads, and George A. (Lisa) Hill of Deltona, FL; siblings, Arlene Dixon of Arkansas, Julia Holick, Carol Ann Schirmer, Janice McNamara, Joseph Hill, John (Kathy) Hill and Terrence Hill all of Danbury, CT; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephew, Deanna, Cheryl, Jean and Donald who he and Donna raised for a few years; and many other nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his siblings, Jackie Miller, Louis Hill, Jean Bonner, Myrtle Rhamsdorff, Donald Hill, Harold Hill, Charles Hill, Phil Hill, and Robert Hill. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 27, 2015 rom 5-8 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2105 at 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church of Montour Falls, 124 Owego St., Montour Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
