Harry Davis, age 71, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, January 17, 2026. Harry was born on November 4, 1954 to the late Walter and Isabella (Landon) Davis, Sr. He was the eighth son of thirteen children.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis Davis, Walter Davis, Jr., John Davis, Sr., David Davis, Dan Davis and Ransome Davis, Sr.; along with sisters, Sandy Davis and Carol (Davis) Kinner.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria (Ganung) Davis; his daughter, Jamie Davis; and son, Justin Davis; a brother, Dale Davis; sisters, Diane (Davis) Carnes, Cynthia (Davis) Miller and Rebecca (Davis) Johnston; sisters-in-law, Betty (Ganung) DeNardo and Donna (Ganung) Henley; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Harry was employed as a machinist at Ingersoll Rand/Dresser Rand for 28 years. He was also employed by Bill’s Machine Shop & Target Builders, before retiring due to health concerns.
He and his wife were married on August 16, 1975 at the Watkins Glen State Park Pavilion. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Harry was a devoted member of the Jehovah’s Witness Congregation in Watkins Glen for over 40 years.
Harry enjoyed working on cars, and tinkering around his home with his son. He took pleasure in cooking meals and liked sharing his food with friends and family. He was a fan of country music and Western TV shows. He enjoyed listening to the original songs and videos from the JW Broadcast.
Harry’s family would like to extend their appreciation to the Carefirst NY Hospice team that cared for him during his final days.
According to his wishes, Harry will be cremated and interred alongside his parents in Beaver Dams.
