Helen M. Wood, 87, of Elmira Heights and formerly of Montour Falls, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015. She was born in Montour Falls on September 6, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Minnie (Hollenbeck) Carlson. She retired from Shepard-Niles after many years of service. She was predeceased by her husband George Wood, a brother, John Carlson; and her sister Mildred Knapp. She is survived by her children, Patricia Barber of Elmira Heights, Debra Wheeler of Horseheads, and George Wood; sisters, Betty Carlson and Lois Notarfonzo of Watkins Glen; six grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Montour Cemetery.
