Henry "Hank" J. Grondski, 80, of Odessa, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 11 2023. He was born in Springfield, Massachusetts on January 1, 1943, the son of Henry Grondski, Sr. and Sophie (Stanley) Sinko. Hank graduated from Thomas Edison High School. He served in the US Navy from 1961-1964. He was married to Ellen on February 14, 2005 in Reading Center, NY. He worked at Thomas & Betts in Horseheads, NY for 18 years until retirement in 2005. He was a member of the American Legion in Horseheads, the Eagles Club, and the Mechanics Club. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan of the Yankees, Washington Commanders, Boston Bruins, and a diehard SU Fan. He is survived by his loving wife Ellen of 18 years, step-daughters, Joyce Cole of Horseheads, NY, and Krishna Stedding of Tennessee; step-son, Lieutenant Colonel Joseph O. Edington of Florida; his sister Patricia (Thomas) Mitchell of Webster, NY; six step-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. A celebration of life for Henry will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 2-5 pm at the Mechanics Club, 237 W. Main St., Montour Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, Montour Falls.
