Hope M. (Merrick) Decker, age 88, of Watkins Glen, NY passed away on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021 at Schuyler Hospital in Montour Falls, NY. Hope was born in Watkins Glen, NY on April 14th, 1933, the daughter of the late Floyd and Ada (Bookman) Merrick. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School Class of 1952 and from the Rochester Business Institute. Hope was the Manager of Grants & Loans for School of Nutrition at Cornell University retiring in 1988. She was a member and former President of the Women of the Moose and a member and past President and Treasurer for the VFW Auxiliary. Hope is survived by her very special niece; Elizabeth Personius and her husband, Ed of Rock Stream; special great niece, Marguerite Moody and her husband, Rob of Rochester, NY; special great nephew, Nathan Personius and his wife, Izabela of New Berlin; extra special great-great nephew, Lucas Gabriel Personius; extra special great-great niece, Abigail Hope Personius; step daughters, Patty Ann, Karen and Robin; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Decker of Odessa; and nieces and nephews, Mike Ballard, Marie, Dana, Alvin, Diana, and Richard Merrick. In addition to her parents Hope was predeceased by her husband Wilbur Decker Jr. in 2008. A private graveside burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Watkins Glen, NY at the convenience of her family.
