Jalyssa Jennae Bohart, 18, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026.
She was born in Elmira, NY on July 19, 2007. She attended Corning-Painted Post High School. She had big hopes and dreams, and wanted to pursue a career in mortuary science. She was a member of His Tabernacle Church in Horseheads, NY.
Jalyssa loved spending time with her boyfriend Alex, hanging out with friends, doing her hair and makeup, listening to music and singing. She enjoyed cooking, exercise, crocheting and shopping with dad’s money. She loved animals, kids and especially her family. She was fascinated by Japanese culture.
Jalyssa was a loving, beautiful, kind, encouraging and selfless person. She was strong, resilient, determined, empathetic, funny, sassy, witty, smart, and persistent.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Donna and Roger; brother, Tyler; cousin, Harmonei, cousin, Katie; and childhood friend, Adam.
Jalyssa is survived by her parents, Anthony Bohart (Christa) and Stephanie Kelley (Kristie); siblings, Dylan Churchill, Maleia “Mo” Bohart, Kirstie and Haleigh; boyfriend, Alexander Davis; Grandma “G”; aunts and uncles, Carolynn, Heather, Misty, Jess, Gretta (Judson), Rebecca (Galen); cousins, Courtney, Brittany, Aaliyah, Jordan, Haleigh, Stella, Casey, Laurie, Micaela (Austin), Clayton, Gianni, Kyra and Zack (Kaylin); second parents, Ben (Sherry), Lisa, Rebecca (Galen); close friends, Mikey, Emmy, Jade Chloe, Logan, Alex, and Cayden; her pets Moose, Zeus and especially Minnie.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 1-3 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at Burdett Volunteer Fire Department, 4124 Lake Ave., Burdett, NY.
