James "Jimmy" Paul Barber, 55, of Montour Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022. He was born in Montour Falls, NY on October 25, 1967, the son of the late Paul and Linda Barber and graduated from Watkins Glen High School. Jim was a logger and ran a tree service. He was a hunter, fisherman and trapper. He enjoyed working in the woods and going deer hunting every year with his family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Linda Barber, Jr., and grandparents, Paul and Marie Barber, and Elsworth and Betty Jones. Jim is survived by his son, Brennon K. VanEtten of Ithaca, NY; brothers, Joe (Victoria) Barber of Newfield, NY and Michael (Tina) Barber of Reading Center, NY; sisters, LeeAnn Barber and Tammy E. Barber both of Millport; nephews, Errick Barber, Trace Denmark and Jayden Summers ; nieces, Anna Mace and Mahala Mae Mace; and by several aunts, uncles and cousins. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 am at Lakeview Cemetery, State Route 14, Watkins Glen. A celebration of life will follow at Jim's home, 4412 Drew Rd., Montour Falls, NY 14865. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, Montour Falls, NY.
