James L. Wood, 74, of Rochester, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at home. He was born in Montour Falls on November 19, 1940, the son of John and Madalyn (Lewis) Wood. James graduated from Watkins Glen High School in 1960 and later graduated from RIT in 1964. He served with the US Air Force from 1964-1968. He was a graphic designer at Rockwell International in Seal Beach, CA. James was an artist, a photographer, and loved history books and movies. He is survived by two sisters, Barbara Forrest of Brooksville, FL, and Shirley (Allen) Gerdes of Montour Falls; and two aunts, Warda Edsall and Elizabeth Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and by his brother-in-law, Donald Forrest. A private burial will be held in Pleasant View Cemetery in Reading Center at the convenience of the family.
