Joanne M. Spicer

Joanne Marie Spicer, 69, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026, surrounded by her two daughters and son-in-law after a courageous 11-year battle with cancer.

Born on December 13, 1956, Joanne was raised in Salem, New Jersey. She dedicated 35 years of service to the United States Postal Service before retiring and moving to upstate New York with her beloved husband, Dale. There, she enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including spending time outdoors, reading, and working on puzzles.

Above all else, Joanne cherished time spent with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend whose kindness, strength, and love touched everyone who knew her.

Joanne was preceded in death by her loving husband of 35 years, Dale Spicer, and her parents, Dorothy and Paul Pankok.

She is survived by her daughters, Christine Hibbert (Tom) and Jennifer Orbin (Joe); her beloved grandchildren, Jeffrey, Rylee, Ava, Brock, Gunnar, Jace, Braelyn, Weston, and Dax; her siblings, Elizabeth Davis (Ernest), Christine Fisher (Charles), Paul Pankok (Kimberly), and Eric Pankok; as well as many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, June 22, 2026 at Vedder-Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St. in Montour Falls, New York. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m. officiated by Father Paul. Burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Guthrie Breast Care Fund in Joanne’s memory.
