John L. Vickio

John Louis Vickio, 76, of Montour Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026 at home.

John was born in Binghamton, NY on April 28, 1950, the son of the late Louis and Mary (Filipetti) Vickio, Sr.

John graduated from Watkins Glen High School, class of 1968. He went on to serve with the U.S. Army. He later received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Houston in 1988. John was a computer programmer for many years in Texas. He also received his Pilot License.

John was a talented musician, singing, playing guitar and keyboard. He played in a several bands; the Cyclones, Mad Attics, Jacobs Ladder and Bo-Jake-Vickio Brothers with his cousin Chip (Nick Vickio Jr.).

John is survived by his son, John L. Vickio Jr.; daughter, Angela Vickio; sister, Faith Ciprich; brothers, Louis P.(Mary) Vickio Jr., and Edward A. (Linda) Vickio; grandchildren, Gianni Vickio and Sam Smith; special friend and caretaker, Connie Hively; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by brother-in-law, Chuck Ciprich, cousins, David Orcutt, Patty Orcutt, Ernie Thurston, Calvin Crouch and Dave Cherock; aunts and uncles, Mary Jane Vickio, Louise Stillman, George Stillman, Mamie Vickio, Minnie Toli, Philip Toli, Rachel Vickio, Nick Vickio Sr., Henrietta Crouch, Hershal Crouch, Gloria Menio, Ed Menio Sr., Loretta Orcutt, Mike Vickio Sr., Guy Vickio, and William Vickio. 

In keeping John’s wishes, there will be no services. Interment will be in Bath National Cemetery.
