Joseph E. Arcangeli, 77, of Burdett, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at home. He was born in Montour Falls on February 19, 1939, the son of the late Joseph and Elma (White) Arcangeli. He and his wife Linda opened Joe's Market in Burdett in 1959 and operated the store for 35 years. Joe went on to spend his later years in farming. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda (Carrigan); children, Joseph (Nicki) Arcangeli, Jr., Janice Arcangeli (Ray Neira), Jay (Kathy) Arcangeli, and Jared (Brenda) Arcangeli; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Jenna, Brendan, Mason, Alyssa, Joey, Gage, Cal, and Isabella; brothers and sisters, John (Marge) Arcangeli, Sandra (Max) Spaulding and Jack (Mary) Arcangeli; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Eloise Velie on March 7, 2016. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
