Joseph C. Ector, Sr.

January 11, 1951 – June 19, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Ector, age 75, on June 19, 2026. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy of love, loyalty, and kindness that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Joe was born and raised in Montour Falls NY. Once out of high school and always a patriot, he joined the US Air Force. Joe served proudly for 8 years, including a tour during the Vietnam War. After he returned, he began his career at Borg Warner (formerly Morse Chain). Working alongside his friend Mike Miller, Joe ran a riveter for many years, and retired after 33 years as a Production Supervisor.

Joe was a biker through and through. The open road was where he found freedom, peace, and lifelong friendships. He embraced the biker lifestyle with enthusiasm and loyalty that touched everyone who rode alongside him. He was also an avid outdoorsman who found great joy in deer hunting and going on his annual bear camp weekend in the Adirondacks with friends. He also spent many memorable moments fishing on Seneca Lake, surrounded by the beauty of the hometown he loved.

Joe was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Vicky, sharing a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Some of his happiest moments were the simple ones—sharing a cold PBR with friends, listening to music, and taking Vicky by the hand for a dance. Whether at a gathering, or simply enjoying time together, dancing with Vicky brought him great joy and reflected the deep love they shared.

Above all else, Joe was a devoted father and family man. He was always there to help his children and family members through life’s challenges, offering guidance, support, and a helping hand whenever it was needed. His strength, wisdom, and unwavering presence made him a pillar for those who loved him.

Joe is survived by his beloved wife of almost 40 years, Vicky; his children Angie (Kyle) McFall, Bill (Emma) Merrill and Joe Jr. (Savannah) Ector. His siblings Walter (Rita) Seidel who reside in Germany, Blanche (George) Bowen, Louise (Les) Sills, Charlie (Joy) Ector, Walter "Skip" (Denise) Ector and Danny (Helen) Teed, as well as his cherished grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brother Gary (Katrina) Ector, his father Walter, beloved step mother Dorothy Ector, and also his mother Ethel Ector.

Joe's passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of his family, friends, fellow riders, and the community that knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his love of family, his devotion to Vicky, his passion for motorcycles, and the countless memories made along the way.
