Joyce M. Keefer, 83, of Montour Falls, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at Schuyler Hospital. She was born in Rock Stream on September 25, 1932, the daughter of the late Francis and Dorothy (Kriner) Hodge, and graduated from Dundee Central School. She was employed at Westinghouse which later became, North America Phillips. She later worked as a greeter at Walmart in Watkins Glen for many years. Joyce was very active with her son Randy, who is a resident at the Arc of Schuyler. She loved to laugh, cook and spending time with her family. Joyce is survived by her children, Brad (Joan) Keefer of Pittsburgh, PA, Vicki (Kevin) Arnold of Horseheads, and Randy Keefer of Watkins Glen; grandchildren, Keith Keefer and Kristina (David) Butler; great grandchildren, Kayla, Shane, Annika, Brady, Brittany and Brendan; sisters, Beverly Bond, Roxanne Jones, Patricia Warner, Deborah Kerr, and Sandra Dillon; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Curtis J. Keefer in 1994, great grandson, Kristian Keefer in 1998; her step-mother, Louise Smally Hodge; and by four brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow in Bradford Cemetery.
