J.WM. "Bill" Miles, 85, of Burdett, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 12, 2018. He was born on July 15, 1932, the son of the late John and Elizabeth (Schlerf) Miles, and served with the US Army from 1952-1954. Bill had a wonderful tenor singing voice that he shared throughout his life. He was a hard worker and was employed at several area grocery stores. He was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Horseheads. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Alice F. Miles on April 17, 1997. He is survived by his children, Shirley Savva of France, Marylou (Jacob) Landmesser of Horseheads, Stephen Miles of Medina, NY, and Jonathan (Robin) Miles of Franklin, NC; grandchildren, Caleb (Jen) Landmesser of Kane, PA, Nathan Miles of Raleigh, NC, and Kristen Miles of Franklin, NC; siblings, Libby (Bill) Crowe of Martinsburg, WV, Cora Lee (Jim) Santaseiro of Port Dickinson, NY, David Miles, and Kathy Miles of Binghamton; and by many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.
