Obituary

Karl E. Hoxie, Jr., 69, of Beaver Dams, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Montour Falls on August 8, 1944, the son of the late Karl E. and Anne Hoxie, Sr. He was a graduate of Odessa-Montour High School. Karl retired from R.L. Callahan in Beaver Dams, where he enjoyed driving dump truck for many years. He was an avid sports fan, especially a longtime Yankee fan. He loved the drum corps and was a member of the Seneca Chiefs. Karl was a family man and loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Albee Hoxie; sons, John (Paula) Hoxie of Corning, Brian (Brenda) of Liverpool; daughter, Lori Hoxie Gezzi of Watkins Glen; brothers, Thomas (Sheila) Hoxie and James Hoxie of Montour Falls; five grandchildren, Preston, Danyel, Leeann, Brandie and Marissa; and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday from 2-4 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A service will follow at 4:00 pm. Burial will be held in Montour Falls Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to St. Judes.
