Kenneth B. Hilliard, 89, of Watkins Glen, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 8, 2022. He was born in Willimantic, CT on June 2, 1932, the son of the late Wallace and Bessie (Frink) Hilliard. Ken served with the United States Air Force for several years. Ken worked as a draftsman estimator at Vistawall Architectural Products in Lincoln RI through the 1980's and 1990's and The Glass Company and Energy Savers in Elmira where he retired in 2006. He was an avid NASCAR fan; he was also a spotter for Spraker Racing for many years and enjoyed watching football. Ken loved antique automobiles, and was a founding member of Rear Gears Hot Rod Club in Willimantic, CT and the Hector Car Show. He also worked for the Race Communications Association at the Watkins Glen race track in the early '70's. He is survived by a son, Mark P. Hilliard (Kelli Curtis) of Owlshead, ME; daughter, Sharron J. Hilliard (James Teribury) of Watkins Glen; grandchildren, Mitchell Hilliard (Lori)of Melbourne, FL, Corey Teribury (Sierra) of Montour Falls, Michelle Chapman (Lucian Weese) of Ohio and Morgan Hilliard (Christine) of Maine; great grandchildren, Koby Hilliard of Elmira, Greyson Teribury of Montour Falls, Matthew, Brady and Carter Chapman of Ohio, Cameron and Otis Hilliard of Maine; and special great niece, Kelly O'Sullivan. He was predeceased by his son, Mitchell K. Hilliard in 2007. A celebration of Ken's life will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Valois Logan Hector Volunteer Fire Company, 5736 State Route 414, Hector, NY 14841. He will be buried next to his mother at a later date in Columbia, CT. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Valois Logan Hector Volunteer Fire Company.
