Kevin S. Appel, 54, of Montour Falls, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 29, 2019. He is survived by his longtime companion, Karen Jordan of Montour Falls and her children, Erin, Tyler and Mark Jordan, Jr.; his mother, Beatrice Appel of Montour Falls; his brother, Duane Appel of Brandon, MS; and sister, Mari Lynn Reynolds of Odessa. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth Appel in 1999. He was born in Elmira on November 4, 1964, the son of Kenneth and Beatrice (VanNoy) Appel and graduated from Odessa-Montour High School. He operated Montour Rendering in Montour Falls and later worked for Ben Weitsman and Son in Ithaca. Kevin was an avid NASCAR and Motocross fan. He enjoyed watching M.A.S.H. reruns, fishing and spending time with Karen's grandson, Anthony Scutt. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls.
