Lana K. Carey-Kitchen, age 84, passed away on April 7, 2025. She was born in Sydney, NY on April 7, 1941, the daughter of the late Arthur and Thelma (Pitcher) Sommers.

A lifelong resident of upstate New York, Lana developed a love of animals and the outdoors, at a young age. She enjoyed horseback riding, fishing and hunting, and developed a passion for breeding and training beagles for hunting after getting a beagle she named Belle. Her line, Boondocks Beagles, ultimately produced a field champion, Boondocks Brandy's Bruno. After she raised her family, she worked as a manager for a local SPCA and was as an aide to people with disabilities.

She is survived by her husband Robert Kitchen; a daughter, Karene Booker; a son, Charles Andrus; grandson, Bryce Jenner; niece, Annika Sommers; and nephew, Eric Sommers.

There will be no funeral services at this time.
