Lawrence (Sonny) R. Zimmer, 78 of Odessa, passed away July 8, 2012 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. Sonny spent 50+ years as a truck driver. Employers included Callahan Construction. He served his country in the Korean War and was proud of being inducted into the Wayne Central School Hall of Fame for wrestling where he was their first heavyweight champion. He is survived by his brother Charles (Joan) Zimmer of Webster, NY and Sally Zimmer, companion of Montour Falls; sons: Lawrence Zimmer of Erin, Thomas (Wendy) Zimmer of Oklahoma, Joseph (Chrissy) Zimmer, Robert (Sharon) Zimmer and daughter Karen (Bob) Rounds all of Montour Falls; twenty grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Private services will be held for the immediate family. Donations can be made to the Faulk Cancer Center. Arrangements have been entrusted to Vedder and Scott Funeral Home.
