Leroy F. Edminster, 82, of Alpine, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Bampa's House in Corning. Leroy was born in Montour Falls on August 19, 1941, the son of Russell and Carrie Edminster and attended Odessa-Montour Central School. He married Lila E. Bishop on July 22, 2000 at his home in Alpine. Leroy worked as Foreman/Lumber Inspector for Coastal Lumber in Cayuta, NY for 41 years, retiring in 2003. Leroy enjoyed his daily two-mile walks in the country and his yearly walk through the gorge in Watkins Glen. He also enjoyed playing Pool every weekend with friends at the former "Odessa House". Leroy is predeceased by his parents and his stepson, Eric Bishop. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Lila; son, Darryl (Paula) Edminster of Homer, NY; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Jonathon) Schwehm of New Jersey; two brothers, Charles (Patricia) Edminster of Watkins Glen, and Donald (Donna) Edminster of Ocala, Florida; four grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life for Leroy will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Cayutaville United Methodist Church, 3231 County Road 6, Alpine, NY.
