Lillian Ethel Litteer Ackley, 80, of Burdett, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, July 14, 2014.She was born on September 1, 1933, the daughter of the late Fred and Ethel Brown Litteer. Lillian retired from Cornell University after 20 years of dedicated service. She was an avid Yankees fan and she lived for her family. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Skip Litteer, and sister, Emma Barrett. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Charles Ackley, Sr.; her adoring children, Charlene (Albert) Root, Kathleen (William) Leff, Darlene (Richard) Jaynes, Eileen (Rick) Dean, Charles (Jan)Ackley, Jr., and Marlene (William) McMinds; 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; her brother, Donald (Virginia) Litteer; sister, Sadie Wheeler; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends including Pat and Joanne Chaffee and Barbara Grey. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 16, 2014 from 12-2 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A funeral service will follow at 2 pm with Pastor David Daniels Officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Dams Cemetery.
