Marilyn A. (Maloney) VanNordstrand, 74, of Odessa, passed away on May 24, 2018 in Montour Falls. She was born on December 5, 1943, the daughter of the late William J. and Verna (Estep) Maloney, and graduated from Watkins Glen High School. Marilyn was a cook at the NYS Fire Academy and a waitress at local restaurants for many years. She was predeceased by her brother, William J. Maloney, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Fay C. VanNordstrand, III; daughter, Michele Bates (Gary) of Alpine; a son, Scott VanNordstrand (Kathy) of Montour Falls; sister, Nancy VanEtten (Leon) of Spencer; four grandchildren, R.J (Brandi), Zackary, Logan (Eric), and Stephanie (Cody); two great grandchildren, Maddox and Haidyn; Mindy and Josh (adoptive family); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Family and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 12-4 pm at the Odessa American Legion, 2532 Steam Mill Rd., Odessa.
