Marjorie L. Rice, 86, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Seneca View Skilled Nursing Facility in Montour Falls. Marjorie went home to be with her husband Jim, son Bill, and parents Howard and Louise Meeks, and her Lord. She leaves to carry on the strong family ties to her daughter, Kathie (Daryl) Von Neida; daughter-in-law, Mary Rice; grandsons, Scott (Anna), Brian Von Neida and Adam Rice; great grandchildren, Evan, Dylan and Annalise Von Neida; sister-in-law, Anna Brown; and brother-in-law, Jessie Kent. Mom loved doing for family, always cheering at football games, and bringing candy for all to share. She made holidays special with her food and decorating. Mom loved snow-saying 'I wish it would snow ', even in July. She was a member of the Olive Branch Grange and Moreland Presbyterian Church for many years. Mom made many friends at Jefferson Village, who became extended family. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 2-3 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. A celebration of her life will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. The family requests there be no flowers, and any donations to be made to the Schuyler County Office of the Aging, Unit 7, 323 Owego St., Montour Falls, NY 14865, as without these truly wonderful people mom could have not stayed happy and independent as long as she did. Also a big thank you to the staff at Seneca View, Unit 2. There truly are angels among us.
