Mark A. Wood, 64, of Burdett, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at home. He was born in Waverly, NY on July 26, 1955, the son of Alfred and Lois (VanEtten) Wood and attended Watkins Glen Schools. On June 29, 1974, he married his wife Caroline in Burdett. Mark retired after 32 years as group leader at Emerson in Ithaca. He was active for over 25 years with the Burdett Fire Company and at one time served as its president. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Caroline; daughter, Amanda (Mike) Morseman of Burdett; son, Dwayne (Robin) Wood of Grand Island, NY; four sisters, two brothers; seven grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. Services will be held privately by the family. Contributions may be made in Mark's memory to the Burdett Fire Company, P.O. Box 238, Burdett, New York 14818. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Vedder and Scott Funeral Home in Montour Falls.
