Martin Roy Craver, 71, of Burdett, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Born on May 25, 1955, Martin was the son of the late Roy and Shirley Craver. He spent more than 45 years working at US Salt in Watkins Glen and was approaching retirement, looking forward to the time he would spend doing the things he loved and being with the people who meant everything to him.
Martin was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his loving wife, Robin Craver; his daughters, Jessica Craver, Alycia (Craig) Bianco, and Brianna (Caleb) Giovinazzo; and his beloved grandchildren, Landon, Lucas, and Logan Bianco, Theodore Giovinazzo, Rylie Woodworth, Mak, Mason, and Logan Craver. He is also survived by his sister, Claudia LaFace (Tim O’Hearn).
In addition to his parents, Roy and Shirley, Martin was predeceased by his brother, Steven Craver.
To know Martin was to know someone who was always there. He was the true “Mr. Fix It” for his entire family and could be counted on whenever anyone needed a helping hand. But more than anything, Martin was a family man. He never missed one of the grandkids ball games. He was there for every baseball, football, and basketball game, proudly sitting at the ball diamond or standing on the sidelines, encouraging his family—and occasionally letting everyone know exactly what he thought. He was there for every camping trip, every birthday party, every special event and every moment his family needed him. His presence was a constant, and his love was unmistakable.
Martin’s passing was unexpected and leaves an immense hole in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His family will forever cherish the memories, the laughter, the stories, and the countless ways he showed his love without ever needing to say it. He was a hardworking man, a devoted husband and father, a proud grandfather, and the person so many could always count on. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 2-4 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, N.Y. with a memorial service immediately following. Burial will be in Montour cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marty’s honor to Schuyler County Youth Baseball and Softball, P.O. Box 309, Watkins Glen, NY 14891.
