Mary V. Chaffee Glick

Mary V. Chaffee Glick, 73, of Beaver Dams, NY, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

She was born in Montour Falls, NY on February 1, 1953, the daughter of Harold P. Chaffee and Mary J. (Ousterout) LaRue. Mary graduated from Watkins Glen Central School and attended college at Corning Community College, SUNY Oswego and Elmira College.

On March 10, 1979, she married John W. Glick in Watkins Glen, NY. They were married for over 38 years before John’s passing on September 8, 2017.

Mary spent her entire career working at Camp Monterey, retiring as the Head of Inmate Records. She was also a longtime devoted member of Monterey Baptist Church.

Mary loved her family and friends. Many special times were shared and memories made at the many picnics, parties and celebrations. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Prior to his death, Mary and John enjoyed their time in Florida every year during the winter months.

Mary is survived by her sons, John Glick, Jr. of Painted Post, NY, Christopher Glick (Tracey Hayes) of Corning, NY and Jeremy (Melissa) Glick of Dundee, NY; sister, Jayne Richardson of Horseheads, NY; half-sisters, Raquel Chaffee of Pulteney, NY and Jorie Chaffee of Bath, NY; brother, Harold (Linda) Chaffee of Watkins Glen, NY; step mother, Marge Chaffee of Bath, NY; grandchildren, Gweneth Glick (Jacob Hogan), Garrison (Madison) Glick, Brody Hayes Glick, Braden Hayes Glick, Makayla Glick, and Gavin Glick; step-grandchildren, Ryan Longmore and Adrianna Longmore; two great grandchildren, Ivan Hogan and Melody Glick; and nieces and nephews, Val (Michael) Martin, Casey Richardson, Nichole (Mark) Swinnerton, Amy Chaffee-Hildreth (Joshua) and Taylor Chaffee-Koch (Clayton).

She was predeceased by her parents, Harold P. Chaffee and Mary J. LaRue (Richard K. Sr.); and brother, Richard K. LaRue, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, September 13, 2026 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, NY. Mary’s memorial service will begin at 1:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Life at the Montour Moose Lodge, 2096 State Route 14, Montour Falls, NY. Private burial will be in Maltby Cemetery in Monterey, NY.
