Paul F. Smith, 75, of Alpine, passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019. He was born in Montour Falls on June 21, 1944, the son of the late Paul and Pearl (Leonard) Smith. He married the former Laura Dense on July 15, 1967 in Cayuta, NY. Paul worked as a Vet Tech at Cornell University for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He was a member of Bible Baptist Fellowship Church in Alpine and the National Rifle Association. He was an avid bird watcher, and lover of nature. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Laura Smith; two daughters, Amy Smith of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Jackie (Jeff) Lisk of South New Berlin, NY; a son, David (Jackie) Smith of Cicero; three sisters, Anna Franklin of Montour Falls, Linda King of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Beverly Rich of Newfield; a brother, Donald (Paula) Smith of Alpine; seven grandchildren, Joseph Lisk, Zachary (Alexis)Smith, Jessica Lisk, Melanie Smith, Katelyn Smith, Donna Smith and Emma Smith; and by several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by sister, Leona Christianson. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, August 12, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bible Baptist Fellowship Church, 5950 County Road 14, Alpine. Paul's funeral service will begin at 12:00 pm followed by burial in Cayuta Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Odessa Fire Department, 300 Main St., Odessa, NY 14869 or Bible Baptist Fellowship Church, 5950 County Road 14, Alpine, NY 14805 in monetary donation or in volunteering of your time.
