Pauline Frances Rosenblatt (Wischt/Mamakos) March 27, 1925 – July 3, 2021 Pauline was born on March 27th, 1925 to Helen Jacobs Stoll and Michael J. Wischt in Boston, MA. Barefoot children of the Depression, she and sister Eileen gleefully gobbled a found box of raisins. Resilient, they met hardship, made mischief together and double dated as older teens: Pauline the instigator, Eileen the fun maker. Shy, private, with a determined will, Pauline was also kind, intelligent and had artistic talent. At 22 years, without much formal education, her focus was to protect and support her only child, Joyce, providing her with a wealth of opportunities. Pauline appreciated new ideas and intellect. She loved Boston, the Gardens and its annual display of Art and Dance, beaches, lobster, ice cream and ethnic foods. She was impeccably and stylishly dressed. With family, she was a force to be reckoned with when Monopoly and Scrabble were on the table. In her later years, Pauline lived and worked in Sarasota, FL. There, she enjoyed its cultural and botanical wealth, the white sand beaches, and her spiritual community. Many have commented on her kindness and sense of humor. She advised her daughter to live life on life's terms. Pauline did, and added a few terms of her own. At 96 years, Pauline died in Montour Falls, NY with her daughter and grandsons nearby. She is survived by daughter, Joy Veverka, grandsons Jesse & Jeremy Veverka and a myriad of cousins. She is much loved and missed. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 3:30 pm at Vedder-Scott & Zinger Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls.
