Philip E. Uhler, 83, of Alpine, entered unto rest on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at Schuyler Hospital. He was born in Endicott, NY on January 26, 1934, the son of the late Walter and Ruth Uhler. Philip enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his daughter, and subsequently his granddaughters, show their horses. Years ago, he enjoyed helping his son-in-law run an excavation business. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 62 years, Yvonne Uhler in 2013, son, John Uhler, and brother, Jesse Uhler. He is survived by his daughter and son -in-law, Lisa and Art Austin and their children, Brandee, Brian, Alexis, Noah, and Cody; son Joe Uhler and his family; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Uhler VanStrander and her family; and by his faithful four legged companion, Jazzy. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 pm followed by burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Horseheads.
