Phyllis J. Kibbe, 81, of Montour Falls, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Elmira, NY on April 7, 1937 the daughter of the late John and Grace (Perry) Bixby, and graduated from Elmira Free Academy. Phyllis worked at Westinghouse, Bonnell Home for Adults and picked grapes for many of the local vineyards. She was a member of the Merry Widows. She was an avid bowler and Philadelphia Phillies fan, and enjoyed gardening. She is survived by three children, James H. (Janet) Kibbe of Montour Falls, Debra J. (Mark) Rice of Montour Falls, and Scott A. (Terry) Kibbe of Lockwood; a sister, Barbara A. Hubbard of Horseheads; five grandchildren, Justin (Stephanie) Kibbe, Shawna Kibbe, Shelbi Kibbe, Char Kibbe, and Crystena Kibbe; one great granddaughter, Kaliea Ervay; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Kibbe; and by her five sisters and three brothers. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from 4:00-6:00 pm at Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 122 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls followed by her funeral service at 6:00 pm. Private family burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Elmira.
