Rita J. Raupers Hughey, 91, of Montour Falls, passed away on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Schuyler Hospital. She was born in Elmira on March 15, 1923 the daughter of the late Charles and Julia Raupers. She married Donald S. Hughey, Sr. on July 25, 1942 in Elmira. Rita retired from the Office of the Aging after many years of service. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald in 1981, a son Patrick in 1985, and by three sisters and a brother. She is survived by three daughters, Donna L. Hughey of Montour Falls, Fran M. Hughey of PA, Sheila A. (Cliff) Croft of Montour Falls; two sons, Donald S. Hughey, Jr. (Pat), and Mike (Christina) Hughey of Montour Falls; fourteen grandchildren, CJ, Brian, Tim, Tina, Michael, Kelly, Bill, Robin, Keith, Wendy, Tammy, Christopher, Samantha and Michael; nineteen great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 3:00 pm at Tyrone Union Cemetery.
