Robert William Fair, 80, of Alpine, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, July 27, 2023. He was born in Kinston, NC on April 13, 1943 the son of Oliver and Ruth Fair.

Robert owned and operated Fair's Body Shop for over 45 years and Fair's Logging for 10 years. He was influential in starting the Schuyler County Ambulance Association. He was a paramedic for Schuyler Ambulance and Erway Ambulance for many years.

He was involved in snowmobile, motorcycle and car racing, winning many trophies. He was a past member of the Montour Moose Club and Mechanics Club. Bob was a true sportsman, he especially enjoyed deer hunting.

Bob was predeceased by his parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law Edward and Trudy Phoenix; and sons-in-law, Edwin Quick and Mickey Fazzary.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; children, Vicki (Carl) Ramsey, Gidget Davis, Tiffany (Phil) Learn, Martha (Mike) Henry, Lisa (Terry) Eccleston, Lori Fazzary, Anne Quick and Edward (Heather) Stone; 19 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Bob will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at the Cayutaville United Methodist Church, 6280 Cayutaville Rd., Alpine, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to a charity of your choice.
