Roland F. "Ronie" Thorpe, 84, of Burdett, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at home. He was born in Watkins Glen on August 11, 1936, the son of Horace and Grace (Temple) Thorpe. Ronie worked at Shepard-Nile in Montour Falls for over 40 years, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Ronie loved his home and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Roberta E. (Terwilliger)Thorpe; two daughters, Tessie(Bill) Osborne and Trina (Tim) Wood of Burdett; three sons, Daniel (Joan) Thorpe of Mecklenburg, Charles (Mary Morse) Thorpe of Burdett, and Matthew of Erin; daughter-in-law, Martha Thorpe of Burdett; ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and special cousin, Guy Crofoot of Bradford. He was predeceased by his father, Horace Thorpe in 1981, mother, Grace Thorpe in 1968, and by son, Kevin Lee Thorpe in 2009. Funeral services will be held privately by the family. Burial will be in Union Cemetery of Hector. Contributions may be made in his memory to Reynoldsville United Methodist Church.
